Eén van de eerste dingen die me op viel in dit boek was dat we niet telkens geconfronteerd werden met alle vrienden en familie. Dat vond ik een goede ontwikkeling. Ook al vind ik ze erg leuk, het was af en toe een beetje teveel van het goede in de voorgaande boeken, vooral omdat ze allemaal succesvol, mooi en to good to be true zijn. Wat dat betreft was dit boek dus erg verfrissend. En het was natuurlijk geweldig om Cole nu te zien als volwassen man. Een knappe en serieuze man. Hij is niet van de one night stands en is zeker geen player. Door zijn werk en zijn tattoos lijkt hij misschien een bad boy maar hij is alles behalve. Shannon heeft haar share of bad boys gehad met alle gevolgen van dien. Het heeft haar haar relatie met haar familie gekost en haar broer moet zwaar boeten voor het beschermen van zijn zus. Dit 13e boek in de Rough Riders serie is het eerste boek dat ik las van Lorelei James en het was voor mij gelijk een zeer goede start. Ze heeft een hele lekkere schrijfstijl, de personages zijn goed uitgwerkt, het heeft een goede verhaallijn en heel veel HOT sex! Ik vind hem: GOED In deze zondagse rubriek zet ik hedendaagse erotische en sexy New Adult/Adult novels in het zonnetje. Het zijn boeken waarvan ik geen uitgebreide review wil schrijven maar waarvan ik vind dat ze wel een plaatsje op de blog verdienen. De sterren waardering is vervangen door GOED, GAAT WEL of NIET LEUK.

‣ Not My Cup of Tea omdat: Omdat ik zo genoot van de Dante Walker serie van Victoria Scott deed ik een poging in dit boek in afwachting van het derde DW deel. Tot mijn schaamte moet ik bekennen dat ik die nog steeds niet gelezen heb en of dat komt omdat dit boek me zo tegenviel?, geen idee. Nee dit boek was niet voor mij weggelegd. Het leek zo veelbelovend maar ik vond het raar en kon totaal niet in het vreemde verhaal komen. Misschien had ik nog wat langer door moeten zetten want de samenvatting klonk erg goed, maar het irriteert me altijd mateloos als het vreemd en onbegrijpelijk is.   In deze rubriek zet ik boeken in de spotlight die ik niet uitgelezen heb.
