Review:

Dit boek stond al een tijdje op mijn verlanglijstje op Goodreads en ik was blij dat ik hem eindelijk kon gaan lezen. De samenvatting sprak me enorm aan en hij scoorde op Goodreads hoge ogen. Daarom was het voor mij best wel een teleurstelling om te ontdekken dat ik totaal geen connectie kon krijgen met het verhaal. Het leek me zo leuk om eens over een heel ander paranormaal concept te lezen, maar nee, dit is het toch niet voor mij. En op de één of andere manier irriteerde Audra mij enorm, ik kreeg helemaal geen connectie met haar en daardoor kon ik in de hoofdstukken met haar POV mijn aandacht er totaal niet bij houden. Vane vond ik daarentegen wel een leuk personage en ik las graag zijn POV, maar aangezien het totale boek 59 hoofdstukken telt, en Audra de helft voor haar rekening neemt, besloot ik mij niet langer te ergeren en er maar mee te stoppen bij hoofdstuk 14.
Zo zie je maar weer dat smaken enorm kunnen verschillen en het niet altijd gezegd is dat, wanneer een boek door de meerderheid leuk bevonden wordt, jij hem ook leuk zult vinden.

    Wat jammer dat je niet echt klikte met dit boek, maar dat kan nu eenmaal gebeuren. Hopelijk maakt het volgende boek meer indruk op je :)

Abbi Glines - Because of Lila

Kan het zijn dat je te veel van je favoriete schrijfster hebt gelezen en haar boeken daardoor op de één of andere manier minder leuk gaat vinden? Het overkomt me nl steeds vaker met Abbi Glines. En daar baal ik van want het genieten van een Abbi Glines was een zekerheid waarop ik altijd terug kon vallen. Slechte plot twist Misschien had ze niet terug moeten vallen op haar Sea Breeze en Rosemary Beach series en gewoon aan iets heel nieuws moeten beginnen? Ik was helemaal in de wolken toen ik hoorde van haar nieuwe serie. Blij dat ik weer terug kon keren en de kinderen van de personages uit de voorgaande boeken kon leren kennen, maar tot nu toe vallen de verhalen me nog niet mee.
