Hannah suffers for Eric’s jealousy. The abuse only gets worse when Leo steals the title of best polo player in the world from Eric.

But the title isn’t enough for Leo. He wants Hannah too, and she can’t deny her attraction to him either. Somehow, she must find a way to break free from abusive Eric before he breaks every bone in her body.

Ze zijn er toch nog wel, New Adult's met een originele verhaallijn.
Breaking The Reins is zo'n originele NA en het heeft een aantal ingredienten die het een spannend, tikkeltje misterieus, emotioneel en romantisch geheel maakten: een 20-jarig meisje dat alleen op een paardenranch woont, een knappe vriend die met de dag jaloerser, bezitteriger en geweldadiger wordt, een sexy Braziliaan, paarden en polo.
Ook al wordt er niet zo veel over polo verteld, het is weer eens wat anders dan football of baseball en het zorgt voor een totaal andere achtergrond.
Vanaf het moment dat ik de samenvatting las wilde ik dit boek graag lezen want het beloofde een romantisch maar ook spannend verhaal.
En dat was het, van het begin tot het einde.
Er waren wel een paar frustrerende momenten, momenten waarop ik twijfelde aan het overlevings-instinct van Hannah, maar dat mocht voor mij de pret niet drukken want ik heb echt genoten van dit boek.
Het is zonder twijfel zijn 5 sterren waard en een absolute aanrader!

Abbi Glines - Because of Lila

Kan het zijn dat je te veel van je favoriete schrijfster hebt gelezen en haar boeken daardoor op de één of andere manier minder leuk gaat vinden? Het overkomt me nl steeds vaker met Abbi Glines. En daar baal ik van want het genieten van een Abbi Glines was een zekerheid waarop ik altijd terug kon vallen. Slechte plot twist Misschien had ze niet terug moeten vallen op haar Sea Breeze en Rosemary Beach series en gewoon aan iets heel nieuws moeten beginnen? Ik was helemaal in de wolken toen ik hoorde van haar nieuwe serie. Blij dat ik weer terug kon keren en de kinderen van de personages uit de voorgaande boeken kon leren kennen, maar tot nu toe vallen de verhalen me nog niet mee.
