Review:

Dit keer een boek over een sexy rock star in de vorm van een country zanger. 
Maar Chasing Dreams mag dan over een muzikant gaan, het is zeker geen cliché rock star verhaal. 
Het heeft een originele basis, een heerlijke romance en de personages zijn aangenaam en geloofwaardig.

Tessa Donovan is de eigenaresse van de bar The Rusty Nail en dat is haar enige liefde. Mannen heeft ze afgezworen na het verlies van haar man en het verraad van een lover.
Dan komt Country zanger Cooper Krenshaw in haar leven en vanaf het eerste moment dat hij haar ziet wil hij haar hebben. Ze is zijn Angel in blue jeans.
Maar er is heel wat voor nodig om Tessa van haar standpunt af te brengen en dat zorgt voor een heerlijke, gepassioneerde en intense haat/liefde verhouding.

In dit boek brachten we een groot deel door in The Rusty Nail en konden we genieten van de optredens van Cooper. En elke keer dat hij op het toneel stond te zingen hoorde ik de sexy stem van Garret Hedlund. 
Ik ken hem door deze clip van de film Country Strong. 
Normaal gesproken ben ik geen fan van country maar dit nummer vind ik erg mooi. 




Chasing Dreams is een heerlijk, luchtig boek om zo ff tussendoor te lezen en ik ben zeker van plan om meer van Nicole Edwards te lezen want haar schrijfstijl spreekt mij erg aan.

Abbi Glines - Because of Lila

Kan het zijn dat je te veel van je favoriete schrijfster hebt gelezen en haar boeken daardoor op de één of andere manier minder leuk gaat vinden? Het overkomt me nl steeds vaker met Abbi Glines. En daar baal ik van want het genieten van een Abbi Glines was een zekerheid waarop ik altijd terug kon vallen. Slechte plot twist Misschien had ze niet terug moeten vallen op haar Sea Breeze en Rosemary Beach series en gewoon aan iets heel nieuws moeten beginnen? Ik was helemaal in de wolken toen ik hoorde van haar nieuwe serie. Blij dat ik weer terug kon keren en de kinderen van de personages uit de voorgaande boeken kon leren kennen, maar tot nu toe vallen de verhalen me nog niet mee.
