When Cora Mason wakes in a desert, she doesn't know where she is or who put her there. Four other teenagers have also been taken: a beautiful model, a tattooed smuggler, a secretive genius, and an army brat who seems to know too much about Cora's past. None of them have a clue as to what happened, and all of them have secrets. As the unlikely group struggles for leadership, they slowly start to trust each other. But when their mysterious jailer—a handsome young guard called Cassian—appears, they realize that their captivity is more terrifying than they could ever imagine: Their captors aren't from Earth. And they have taken the five teenagers for an otherworldly zoo—where the exhibits are humans.

As a forbidden attraction develops between Cora and Cassian, she realizes that her best chance of escape might be in the arms of her own jailer—though that would mean leaving the others behind. Can Cora manage to save herself and her companions? And if so . . . what world lies beyond the walls of their cage?

‣ Waarom dit boek?:

Een hele tijd gelezen las ik een boek dat een beetje op deze lijkt en ik vond dat een heel erg leuk boek. Alleen daarom al wil ik The Cage gaan lezen.
Ik ben heel benieuwd naar de verschillende landschappen in dit verhaal, wat er verwacht wordt van de 'dierentuin' bewoners, wie de buitenaardse wezens zijn die hun gevangen houden en vooral naar de verboden romance tussen bewaker en gevangene.

Abbi Glines - Because of Lila

Kan het zijn dat je te veel van je favoriete schrijfster hebt gelezen en haar boeken daardoor op de één of andere manier minder leuk gaat vinden? Het overkomt me nl steeds vaker met Abbi Glines. En daar baal ik van want het genieten van een Abbi Glines was een zekerheid waarop ik altijd terug kon vallen. Slechte plot twist Misschien had ze niet terug moeten vallen op haar Sea Breeze en Rosemary Beach series en gewoon aan iets heel nieuws moeten beginnen? Ik was helemaal in de wolken toen ik hoorde van haar nieuwe serie. Blij dat ik weer terug kon keren en de kinderen van de personages uit de voorgaande boeken kon leren kennen, maar tot nu toe vallen de verhalen me nog niet mee. Ik vond deze zelfs nog minder leuk dan zijn voorganger  . Eén van de dingen waarvan ik zeker weet dat ik er moe wordt is de (ongewenste) zwangerschap.
